High chroma is a design term used to describe colors of the purest hue without any additives or dilution. As a design studio, High Chroma DESIGN doesn’t always employ the brightest brights or loudest colors, but rather seeks to accomplish two central goals: bring pleasure into every space, and prioritize uniqueness and character over trend.
MEET OUR FOUNDER
High Chroma founder and designer Emily Ibarra was born and raised in Los Angeles, offering her access to boundless sources of inspiration in the worlds of music, visual arts, writing, and design from an early age.
After spending a decade working in live music, event production and artist management, the industry she had been immersed in for so long suddenly shut down with the onslaught of COVID. This jolt catapulted her into a reinvigorated sense of creative exploration, and from there High Chroma Design was born.
Emily has a passion for postmodern architecture, vintage furniture, and bold interior design. Her deep love for Bauhaus, Postmodern and Italian Modern design visionaries such as Gae Aulenti, Ettore Sottsass, Vico Magistretti and Marcel Breuer drives her design projects and furniture sourcing adventures. High Chroma Design is Emily’s vessel for sharing her love of color and design ingenuity with clients who aren’t afraid to take risks and have fun with their spaces.
